Minsk to change time schedule for public transport, universities over coronavirus
– Minsk will change time schedule for public transport and universities over the coronavirus. The issue was discussed at a meeting chaired by Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko to analyze the epidemiological situation in the country on 19 March, BelTA has learned.
“We have agreed (the Healthcare Ministry has advised) to reschedule the public transport and university timetable to separate the flows of commuters. Let universities start lectures later. Thus, students will be traveling to the university later, when the majority of people are already at work. This will be even more convenient for the city,” Aleksandr Lukashenko said. In his words, the decision, first of all, applies to Minsk.
Belarusians are also advised to self-isolate if they can. “People need to be advised to stay at home. We need to mobilize our social services to help lonely seniors. We need to take care of them. We need to do everything possible for them to come out of this situation safe and sound,” the president said.
